17 Again is a 2009 American fantasy comedy flick directed past Burr Steers. The moving picture follows a 37-year-old human being named Mike (Matthew Perry) who becomes his 17-year-old self (Zac Efron) later a chance accident. In 1989, 17-year-onetime star athlete Mike O'Donnell'southward girlfriend Scarlet Porter tells him that she is significant, only moments before his probable scholarship-clinching loftier-school championship basketball game game. On Rotten Tomatoes the film has an approval rating of 56% based on 149 reviews, with an average rating of 5.40/10. The site's critics consensus reads, "Though it uses a well-worn formula, 17 Again has merely plenty Zac Efron charm to result in a harmless, pleasurable teen comedy."[iii] On Metacritic, the motion picture has a weighted boilerplate score of 48 out of 100, based on reviews from 27 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews".[four] Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of "A−" on an A+ to F scale.[v]
Roger Ebert gave the film three stars out of 4, writing: "17 Once more is pleasant, harmless PG-xiii entertainment, with a plot a little more surprising and acting a little better than I expected."[6] Justin Chang of Variety wrote: "Zac Efron's squeaky-clean tweener-allurement profile is unlikely to be threatened past 17 Over again, an energetic simply earthbound comic fantasy that borrows a few moves, if little inspiration, from Big and It's a Wonderful Life."[seven]
